“Driven to Distraction” by Edward Hallowell

When I was 38 years old and my oldest daughter was eight or nine, we found out that she had ADD. At the same time, we discovered the source, a genetic connection to her father. This book was recommended to me and I, like everyone else I’ve spoken to who’s ever read it, believed the author had been spying on my life and wrote the book based on my behavior.

If you have ADD or suspect you do, pick up this book immediately. I once wrote a blog and mentioned the title. A week or so later I got an email from someone on the West Coast thanking me for the recommendation telling me how he and his wife read it both cried, grateful to finally understand the root of his problems. I have walked through airports and been stopped by people who point to the book and gush.
